Traditional Indian Clay Earthenware Mitti Tawa / Tavdi/ Pan Open fire/Gas top 1970’s
Watford, Hertfordshire
£6
Description
This is hand made in cottage industry type of shops in Africa.
Note it is not factory made so will not be perfect.
Bought in late 1970’s.
It is clay / earthenware / mitti and is unglazed.
The porous nature of clay allows heat retention and allows slow even cooking.
Can only be used on gas top or open fire.
It is concave in shape, perfect for rotis (chapatis), bajra rotla, naan, bhakhri etc.
Diameter – 21cm Height approx. 2cm
Never been used as I bought a few (thinking they will break easily).
