Description

Station Operations Assistant

Location: Edinburgh Bus Station

Shift Pattern: 7 days on, 3 off. Then 7 days on 4 off. Woking on rotation between 06.15-14.45 or 14.15-22.40

Rate of pay: £14.02 - £22.51 per hour (dependent on shift type)​

Duration: Ongoing temporary

You must be fully flexible to work Monday to Sunday.

What you'll be doing:

Being the first point of contact for passengers – providing clear, friendly, and accurate travel information

Offering assistance to passengers with queries, directions, and travel advice

Maintaining a welcoming, safe, and clean station environment for all visitors

Managing the smooth flow of buses and passengers through the station

Supporting the improvement of station services and facilities through excellent customer engagement

Managing live traffic movements within the bus station to maintain safety and efficiency

Coordinating bus arrivals and departures in line with schedulesWhat we're looking for:

Strong customer service skills and a positive, approachable manner

Confidence in speaking with the public and providing information under pressure

The ability to work as part of a team and build rapport with colleagues and external partners

Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in busy situations

Good IT literacy and attention to detail

A flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekendsWhy join us?

Weekday Standard - £14.02

Weekday unsociable (Monday - Friday 6am-7am, 9pm - 12am) - £17.93

Weekend standard (Sat&Sun, 7am-9pm) - £17.03

Weekend unsociable (Sat&Sun 6am-7am, 9pm-12am) - £22.51
