Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Homelessness to lead and shape our homelessness services. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for developing and delivering effective prevention and intervention strategies that support some of the most vulnerable individuals in our communities.

You will oversee the operational management of homelessness services, lead a high–performing team, and work closely with partners across housing, health, and support services to reduce homelessness and rough sleeping in the area.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the strategic development and delivery of homelessness services in line with statutory duties and best practice

Oversee homelessness prevention, temporary accommodation, and housing solutions teams

Ensure effective case management, customer–focused service delivery, and legal compliance (including Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017)

Develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen pathways out of homelessness

Monitor service performance, budgets, and KPIs, reporting to senior leadership

Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the service

About You:

Proven experience in managing homelessness services within local government, housing associations, or charities

Strong understanding of relevant legislation and national homelessness strategy

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Strategic thinker with the ability to implement effective policies and service models

Confident communicator and collaborator across agencies and sectors
