Description

The Dell UltraSharp UP3216Q is a professional-grade monitor offering a 4K (3840x2160) resolution with excellent colour accuracy and greyscale performance. It uses Dell’s PremierColor technology to cover 100 percent of the Rec. 709 (HDTV) colour space, 99.5 percent of the Adobe RGB colour space, 100 percent of the sRGB colour space, and 87 percent of the DCI-P3 (digital cinema colour standard) colour space.

This monitor is excellent for professional work, whether it be video or photo editing, and content creation. The large 32” 4K display real-estate makes a significant difference in viewing more on screen at once when using various editing or music software. It features a 12-bit Look-up Table (LUT) that supports hardware calibration. Other settings include Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture which can allow half the screen using sRGB and the other half using Adobe RGB.

I’ve used this monitor for editing, gaming (both PC and gaming console), and general computing. The colour on the display is great and has excellent viewing angles due to it being an IPS display. It’s in very good condition overall with some very minor marks/blemishes on the bezel itself, which isn’t that noticeable unless you’re up close looking for it.

On the back there are two DisplayPort inputs (one full size and one mini), and HDMI 2.0/MHL port, audio output, a USB 3.0 upstream port, and three USB 3.0 downstream ports. There’s an additional USB 3.0 downstream port located on the rear of the display facing outward.

It’s mostly been used on a monitor arm using the VESA 100x100mm mounting interface. The stand is very sturdy and made of metal. The height of the monitor can be adjusted and the stand base allows the monitor to be rotated.

There is also a built-in card reader to the side of the panel, supporting SD, MS Pro, MS Duo, and MMC media. Useful for things such as transferring photos from SD card.

The original box is included, but it’s a bit tatty and bent out of shape having been stored in the loft.

The monitor will come with a power supply cable and a DisplayPort cable, along with some documentation and CD.
