Description

Detective Comics #311 - Published January 1963

“Imagine what I with my knowledge of cat lore can do! Yes-- cats will be my category of crime! I shall become-- The Can-Man!” - Thomas Blake

Tom Blake, a playboy and big-game hunter, is inspired by the memory of the Catwoman and his pet black panther to become the Cat-Man, a costumed thief, using cat-gimmicks and cat-motifs in his robberies. Batman, Robin, and Batwoman stand against Cat-Man and they confront the criminal on a couple of occasions until Batman is able to deduce Cat-Man's secret identity. When the Dynamic Duo find Cat-Man's lair, they fall into a trap, but Batman finds a way out after which Cat-Man tries to escape and falls to a nearby river and is dragged away by the current.

5.5 Grade - The basic minimum for most collectors but depends on your budget! This is a comic with wear showing on the edges or stress around the staples. Still clean and flat with a small mark or cover writing but I do mean small. Pages may be yellowing slightly but no brown edges. Above average, read a few times and stored away with at least some concern. A staple may be detached but, if that' the case, the rest of the comic should appear Very Fine. For British comics, a little more wear on the spine and cover is permissible and there may be some corner curl evident. British comics are all shapes and sizes so corners and edges suffer more. Again, think that this is a comic that has clearly been looked after in its history.
