Description

This 14 year-old car is in very good condition for its age, with a mileage of around HALF the 10k miles per year regarded as 'average'. There are the inevitable stone chips and vegetation scratches from narrow country lanes, and it has a slight dent and paint scratches on the tail gate from when the wind blew the up-&-over garage door down on it: the car is normally kept outside.

Today I have just collected the car from having a NEW CAM BELT FITTED, and it is now booked in for its MOT (due 8th September) and annual service on 18th August.

I have found that the 1560cc 8-valve 4 cylinder TURBO-DIESEL engine achieves a good 40mpg overall, and on a full tank of fuel, around 60 litres, it has a range of over 500 miles on a long journey.

There are 6 AUTOMATIC forward gears, with up & down 'paddles' at the steering wheel to override the auto-chosen gear, and there is a choice of full manual control using the paddles if required: it takes a bit of getting used to if you have been used to manual gears, but is wonderful in heavy traffic !

The original spare was a 'space-saver', but I replaced this with a FULL-SIZE steel wheel and tyre, which is carried under the rear end; it has never been used. There is a TOOL KIT of jack, wheelbrace and towing eye under the boot floor. All 4 TYRES were replaced at 77,113 miles, so they have done around 7,000 miles from new, with around 4.8mm of tread left.

Over the 8 years that I have owned it, all FOUR of the DIESEL INJECTORS have been replaced, one by one. I am told this is a common thing for this engine. The under-bonnet FUSE/JUNCTION BOX has also been replaced in July 2024.

There are 2 ignition/remote locking KEYS, and will have a full service and new MOT on 18th August, due date 8th September. Because of the very low yearly mileage, the last full service was done on 18th August 2023 at 77,113 miles, 7,000 miles ago. The Road Tax this current year is £195.

The dimensions of this car are 4.4m long, 1.82m wide (excluding mirrors) and 1.62m height.

Compared to prices in Autotrader, I have priced it low for a quick sale at £1950.
