This is the complete set of The Great Composers and their Music in CD form. Every CD is in prefect condition, as are the accompanying booklets, all in colour and in immense detail. The composers comprise: Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Chopin, Elgar, Grieg, Sibelius, Vivaldi, Mozart, Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schubert, Lizt, Berlioz, Schumann, Ravel, Dvorak, Rimsky-Korsakov, Haydn, Offenbach, Johan Straus II, Debussy, Stravinsky, Richard Strauss, Bartok, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Orff up to Gershwin and Rodrigo. The eagle eyed will spot that this is not 52 composers but for some of the major composers, there are more than 1 CD to cover off their major works. There are also a few compilations to cover off for instance A Russian Festival or A Baroque Festival. This is a truly comprehensive set for those who are already lovers of Classical Music or just those at the beginning of a journey and who want to learn about the composers and their key pieces as they go along.
The booklets are A4 in size and there is one to accompany each CD. They go into the life of each composer, the times that they were living in, relationships, both family or otherwise and the social context. These are all intended to give the music context and meaning.
Both the CD's and the booklets are in excellent condition but now need to be moved on (as we have downsized) to someone else who will appreciate and both learn and enjoy them.
