VINTAGE FRENCH ALUMINIUM STORAGE TINS, SET OF SIX LIDDED ALUMINIUM CANISTERS, POTS, BRASS LABEL, HAND PLANISHED/HAMMERED - SUCRE CAFÉ PATES FARINE THÉ POIVRE - 1950s FRENCH KITCHENALIA

Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!
We got these from a Brocante at Reims in the Champagne region some years ago and have displayed them on a dresser.
These are a set of six sturdy aluminium storage tins or canisters with push fit lids and brass plaques.
Quality pieces with a maker’s mark to the underside of the largest tin, they date to around the 1950s and are marked in brass to the front: SUCRE CAFÉ PATES FARINE THÉ POIVRE (sugar coffee pasta flour tea pepper).
Substantial tins about 2mm thick with a crafted hammered, planished, or martelé finish.
They are well used and worn but still in a good, functional, condition and also make charming pieces of French kitchenalia.
In very good, sound, vintage condition with wear and staining consistent with age and use - please examine photographs carefully for condition.
All are worn, both to the exterior and interior, but still sound.
No holes or damage.
The aluminium surfaces are clean and bright but have scratches, wear and tarnishing.
The lids are in similar condition and fit well.
The brass labels are worn but clearly legible and secure.
The bases have wear but are sound.
There is a maker’s mark to the largest of a Crown and the words ALUMINIUM PUR (pure aluminium).
Measure approximately:
SUCRE - 16 cm tall with lid on, 12.5 cm diameter at it widest,
CAFE - 14.5 cm tall with lid on, 10.5 cm diameter,
PATES - 13 cm tall with lid on, 10 cm diameter,
FARINE - 12.5 cm tall with lid on, 9.5 cm diameter,
THÉ- 11 cm tall with lid on, 8.5 cm diameter,
POIVRE - 10 cm tall with lid on, 7 cm diameter,
Weigh about 800 g in total.
