VW T5 (T30) Automatic Campervan / Day van with Pop-top

We have loved having this van and it has been a lot of fun! It has had a good long life, as can be see from the photos and outstanding mileage (255,020 miles!) but these engines just keep going!
Some dinks and minor rust spots but nothing major, all treatable with a bit of love. This is a rare kombi campervan with rear sliding doors on both sides which we have found really useful over the years. We did intend to fit a kitchen unit (with rear access to change bottles etc), but decided we preferred the extra space inside and easier access instead (and cooked in the awning). The van originally had two captain's chairs up front, but we replaced the passenger seat with a bench seat as there are 3 of us. A passenger captain's chair could easily be swapped back in. The driver's seat is heated and there is wiring to have a heated passenger seat too. There is also a smart charging relay and wiring to below the passenger seat, so a leisure battery and inverter could be added very easily. These were taken out by the previous owner and we found we were fine without.

The original radio has been swapped out with a touch screen Panasonic double-din unit. This works with Apple CarPlay via a USB socket in the glovebox. Two additional USB charging sockets have also been installed in the dashboard. The van has A/C, but hasn't been particularly effective recently so may need flushing or re-gassing.

It is a 6 speed automatic. The engine is the 2.5l BNZ. The largest displacement VW ever put in a Transporter - it pulls really nicely! It also has cam gears rather than belt or chain, so no need to have them replaced. Improvements made to the engine since we have owned it are:
- New glow plugs
- Refurbished injectors
- New camshaft and followers
- New turbo
- New DPF
- New battery and battery cables

The van is registered as a campervan, so can be driven at car speed limits, rather than van speed limits as a lot of unregistered conversions have to.
