Description

Really reliable and well built van with solid service and maintenance history. Only selling as moving abroad, sad to see it go.
Citroen Relay H2L2 2012, 2.2 Hdi Cam chain not belt. Mot till Oct 25. 144,000 miles (may go up as being used). Euro 5 .

I get around 33 mpg average. I generally cruise at about 60-65 mph. I get a range of about 500 miles on a tank (70l I think but might be 80)

Full service history since I bought it at 100,000 miles 7-8 years ago (2017)

Important engine work included new glow plugs this year and most importantly the main oil pump was replaced a couple of years ago. Has had new HDuty alternator. New discs and pads all round inc the parking brake set a couple of years ago. Various other bits have been replaced as they clapped out. I could give a full list if I go through the service history.

The glove box in front of the passenger is cooled by the aircon so keeps your drinks cold(ish)…..fridge in back is much better!

Equipment:

Front passenger seat swivel

3 burner hob and sink combo

Cold tap

Porta potti sits in a bespoke made cut out/mount on top of the 600mmx600mm shower tray/cubicle and there is a pump-up shower (fill it with hot water from kettle, pump it up like a garden sprayer then shower with hose with on/off switch on it. It takes 7l of water so is enough to wet-wash-rinse a person. Shower curtain and shower area extender floor panel thing for when using shower to stop the floor from getting wet and give more room

2 x 25l fresh water butts in back with submersible pump.

48l “waste hog” grey water container on wheels that sits under the sink/shower drain when parked

Fixed double bed with custom foam mattress and memory foam topper. Portable folding steps to help old people like us get into the bed!

Vitrifrigo 60l compressor fridge (deliberately ordered with no freezer to reduce the energy use)

15kg gas bottle- could use a smaller one as due to only running the cooker it lasts for ages- we have never changed it in 7 years and it still has loads left!

240V hookup with consumer unit. Double socket in rear. 240v to 12v transformer with separate battery charge function so when you are on a site you can run all the 12v stuff from the hookup AND charge the batteries at same time. 2 x 90 ah leisure batteries. There is a 240v switch to turn this charger/transformer unit on just behind the drivers seat.

There is a 40A split charge relay that charges the leisure batteries when the engine is running.

Genuine eberspacher blown air heating system that runs from main fuel tank (you need min 1/3 of a tank as the feed pipe is set so you can’t run the main tank out of diesel by using the heater)

4 x strip lights and 4 x spots(2 over kitchen and 2 over bed) all LED’s. strip lights controlled by proper double light switch.

Various 12v sockets around the van inc a switched one above the bed so you can use a computer/ipad type device as a telly when you are in bed. USB’s in cab and near cooker. I used a 12v charger for my laptop but I’m keeping that. Very useful and not expensive. Charged really fast either from cab 12 v sockets when driving or from the leisure batteries when parked.

Access is possible to gas bottle switch and to the double 240v socket via some panels at either end of the shelf area between the bed and rear doors….so you don’t have to get wet if it’s pissing it down!

2 x roof lights with fly screens, 2 side windows with integral blinds and fly screens.

Chest of drawers beneath the bed and a custom set of drawers beneath the kitchen bit. Both have “travelling posts” to keep the drawers securely shut when driving. The magnetic catches were not strong enough when drawers were loaded going round roundabouts etc! There is storage over the cab and another shelf up high in the cab. Loads of room in the boot area under the bed.

Towbar and roofrack with clamps and eyelet hooking points (in drawer inside so they don’t get nicked!)

Reversing/rearview camera with screen where the rear view mirror would go. This is on a manual switch just above the screen- Don’t leave it on or the vehicle battery will drain!

There is an insulated screen and front side window cover that is reversible so can keep heat in or out. It has straps that go around the mirrors and front doors and some magnetic catches too. Works very well. And has a zip opening for the main windscreen so you can leave it on when parked and still see out in daytime. Generally the van is over insulated. First layer was self adhesive foam stuff to cover every bit of exposed internal metal then 60mm PIR/Celotex in floor and roof. Walls have 100mm recycled plastic type wool fibre, then whole lot covered with a membrane before the van was lined out to prevent interstitial condensation in the insulation layer. The linings are attached to batons which are attached to the metal stuts in the van so there are no fixings that go from the inside of the van direct into the metal, again to avoid the condensation risk on the fixings. T&G ceiling and ply walls, stirling board floor (ply in boot). Floor has 3 coats of heavy duty floor varnish, ceiling has matt or eggshell varnish. The walls are covered with natural cork which has been sealed with specialised cork varnish – matt or eggshell again. This is because I hate that nasty nylon stretchy carpet that usually gets used.

Comes complete with pots, pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, cafetierre, bin, washing up bowl, doormat, instruction manuals for everything installed, toilet chemicals, Spare bulbs, wing mirror glass. 2 x folding chairs. Basically, complete and ready to go.

Also inc is a Garmin large vehicle sat nav.

Headroom and bed length is about 1m 85.

The leisure batteries live in a battery box behind a panel that is underneath the drawers under the cooker. Also in there is the eberspascher unit with air intake and exhaust through the floor and additional fuses for parts of the 12v system that are not dealt with by the main switch panel. The 12v wiring runs around the van under panels between the roof and the walls so you can get at it if required.

Bad bits.

Cover to towbar electrics is broken (electrics still work fine).

Air con needs a re-charge.

NS headlight is dull. Not the bulb but the plastic- could do with a polish. I replaced the OS headlight because it leaked and at £175 I’d have the NS one polished rather than buy a new one!. Never been an MOT issue though.

The leisure batteries are 7 years old. They still hold charge fine and have never been left to go flat, but if I was keeping the van I’d probably upgrade them.

Reversing sensors don’t work. (never have)

There is a “system” light on, on the dash. Has been like that ever since we bought it. It’s something to do with “cambus” communications between electronic modules of the van. Has no detrimental effect whatsoever and is not an MOT issue. I think it’s probably because the van can’t communicate with the reversing sensors. If I could be bothered, I’d just remove the bulb from the dash.

Suffers a bit from flaky paint like all the non white versions of this van ( Peugot and Fiat ones too) do. Mainly around windscreen and bonnet.

Has a few dings and scratches- mainly high up NS.

We love it and are sorry to have to sell it but its just not feasible to register it here in France.
