This massive, two volume boxed edition is a compendium of part of the largest grouping of artistic works ever gathered in one defined location--Florence Italy. This edition shows art, as produced in all of its forms--painting, sculpture, architecture, half tone prints and even plan layouts of structures. The book bindings are colored a muted dark blue. There are 1 1/4 inch squares embossed into the front and back flaps with 1/4 inch circles covering the joints of each of the squares. The slipcase is decorated with the brilliant painting of the Last Judgement by the great artist Fra Angelico.
