Published in the United Kingdom, in English, these soft covered journals are packed full of colour photographs and numerous articles of great interest both for current enthusiasts of alpine plants and whose who would love to grow them, including a special conservation issue.

The specifics of each of the eight bulletins being offered for sale here as one lot are as follows:

1. Volume 60 No. 1 March 1992

Subject matter includes articles on germinating seed in the kitchen and the cultivation of primulas.

2. Volume 60 No. 2 June 1992

Includes articles on nocturnal activities in and around the rock garden and bulb cuttings.

3. Volume 60 No. 3 September 1992

Includes articles on effective ways to deal with difficult to propagate plants, and raising alpines from seed.

4. Volume 60 No. 4 December 1992

Articles include one on growing alpines in a plunge frame.

5. Volume 61 No. 1 March 1993

Includes articles on the merits of raised beds, and advances in pest control.

6. Volume 61 No. 2 June 1993

Includes articles on creeping rhododendrons (ground-hugging dwarfs), a freestanding tufa wall, and geraniums for the rock garden.

7. Volume 61 No. 3 September 1993

Special conservation issue.

8. Volume 61 No. 4 December 1993

Includes articles on the genetics of vigour, and stonecrops.

This is a private sale from a pet, smoke and Covid free home. These eight publications were acquired by me when I was a member of the Alpine Garden Society in 1992 and 1993, and since then have been stored on a shelf away from sunlight in a clean, dry environment so are in very good, lightly used, condition for their age.

These items have no loose or missing pages, nor do they have any marks or staining or tears or handwritten notes to detract from their appeal. The top right hand corner of one front cover was bent over in storage, as was the bottom of the front cover on the conservation issue.

The size of each of these portrait format publications is approximately 20.5 cm high x 14.5 cm wide.
