SIZE : Medium / Large. I'm 5' 11" with shortish legs - 30" inseam and it's perfect for me. There's scope for adjustment both ways.

I bought this bike new in 2001when I lived and worked on the Isle of Wight. At that time it was the best mountain bike on the market and cost twice as much as a Marin Bear Valley which was the bench mark at the time. It's still a good bike now.

It hasn't been used off road very much. I've spent most of my cycling life touring in different parts of the world. I then switched to recumbents for many years. I now concentrate on Audax in my Alpha 7 with the occasional tour so the Whyte only goes out on birthdays and Christmas. It deserves better.

It's in a lovely clean condition. The chain is new. The cables were all replaced when I used the bike during my professional cycle mechanics course. There are two small marks on the frame (pictured) otherwise it is in excellent order. It's a 3 x 9 so 21 speed. I resisted the temptation to fit disc brakes. They weren't very good in 2001 and somehow V brakes are more of the period.

I have all the paperwork from when I bought it including the brochures and manuals.

I am happy to box and bubble wrap the bike. Postage is free at the asking price. I'm willing to reduce the price for a 'collection in person' or if you wish to arrange your own courier.
