Description
Super Galaxy Tourer Project
For sale is a Super Galaxy Tourer project frame with some original parts which requires wheels (700c size), chain, pedals and mudguards to complete.
Frame is a Dawes Super Galaxy Touring mens frame in racing green which is thought to date from the late 1990`s in Reynolds 531 tube including the forks. The size is 21 in measured from bottom bracket centre to seat tube top. It is designed for serious touring with attachment bolting points for rear and front carriers and bottle.
The group set is Shimano Exage covering brazed on cantilever brakes, chain set and indexed gear shifters on the downtube. The rear carrier is an Alloy Bor Yueh suitable for panniers. The saddle is not perfect with some damage to the nose but it is functional and would benefit from fitting an over cover when it would be serviceable.
The frame is currently fitted with upright bars / brakes using a quill stem and a conversion back to drops would be straightforward which would give the advantage of being able to select a preferred handlebar bend. The frame will require the fitting of a sear bolt clamp. The stem and seat post are both moving freely in the frame and the bottom bracket crank bearing is rurning smoothly.
This project frame has been priced to reflect its original quality and current condition plus the parts and the price is £65 cash on collection from Knutsford, Cheshire WA16.
