Description
A 1990s MTB steel Marin Bear Valley conversion to bikepackaging, touring or commuting bike.
The frame and forks are made of Tange chromoly in size large. The frame has the original paint and rusty areas have been sanded down to bear metal and all frame and forks clearcoated to preserve the patina (rusty spots were treated with inhibitor before clear coat). The patina shows the character of the age and looks amazing!
The bike has been striped down and built to high standards with the view to last for years and deal with anything you throw at it. It is a bomb proof bike for any adventure. It has a combination of brand new and as new parts. Below a description of the parts fitted:
Shimano Deore/XT/SLX groupset.
Shimano Deore breakset (as new)
Shimano Deore rear derailleur (brand new)
Shimano SLX front derailleur
Shimano XT crankset (vgc)
Shimano Deore shifters 3x9 speed (brand new).
Shimano bottom bracket ( brand new).
KMC silver chain (brand new).
Shimano cassette 11-34 (as new).
All cables and outers are Shimano Deore stainless steel (brand new).
New and freshly greased headset ballbearings.
Syncros wheelset as new with no wear on the braking area (as new).
Schwalbe Billy Bonkers tyres 26x2.1 (brand new).
Brooks B17 saddle, very comfy!
Tortec rear pannier rack (as new).
Blackburn Outpost front pannier rack (as new).
Ergon GP3 grips.
Oxford full mudguards (brand new).
Strong kick stand.
Adjustable stem.
Brand new pedals.
If price is met I will leave the Brooks B17 saddle and Ergon grips, otherwise I will fit ordinary ones.
