VERY used set of Mavic 26 inch wheels
THE RIMS HAVE A LOT OF WEAR ON THE BRAKING SURFACES
That's why I'm happy selling them as suitable for a pub bike or other low-mileage use, but wouldn't recommend for commuter / race bike etc. They wouldn't last long with weekly heavy usage.
These did a fair bit of commuting around Southampton area until I changed bikes.
The rims have been sprayed Matt Black, but have also developed a kind of - Urban Camo - look with random scratches combined with various road & chain grime.
I did try to clean them. Not sure why.
Front: black Mavic X221 rim on black Specialized hub, 9mm QR, ~100mm OLD, black spokes
Roughly 1mm runout from true
Rear: black Mavic X138 rim on black Shimano Deore M510 hub, 7 speed freewheel, 9mm QR, ~135mm OLD, silver spokes
Roughly 2mm max runout from true, mostly in one area of rim
Currently fitted with super-grimey 11-28t Shimano HG 7-speed cassette, part worn.
I checked that it can be removed fine - it isn't rusted in place. Happy to remove if you require.
Both rims have Schrader valve holes.
Only the rear has a rim tape.
