Halfords Advanced D-Lock Silver Rating Has Fault With Alarm Function
The bike lock is in good overall condition, and works very well as a secure bike lock, but the alarm function doesn't seem to work very well on it.
The lock has a loose earth wire in the battery compartment, which needs to be soldered back on again, but the alarm function, just tends to just make lots of beeps when the lock is moved, so there's possibly a fault with the alarm anyway.
The lock has a Silver Solid Secure Rating, and it also comes with 5 keys as well.
Due to the fault with the alarm function, the lock can be used on its own as a bike lock without alarm, although the visual effect of it being an alarmed lock might be a deterrent on its own anyway, or it can possibly be repaired in order to restore the alarm function on it.
The battery required for the alarm function is a CR2 3V Lithium battery.
There is a small screw inside the lock itself, which a requires an Allen key to be removed. After this has been removed, the battery/alarm plastic housing, can then be removed from inside the lock.
