RX 450 4Str is the fans’ chance to ride a Made-in-Beta MX closely resembling the race bike that’s been running in the MXGP World Championship for five years now and in the American AMA Supercross series since 2024. The Model Year 2026 RX 450 has been updated with a massive performance step, making the power delivery close to that of the factory bikes, while keeping the brand’s signature easeof control intact.

Engine: the 450cc engine development was focused on providing riders a significant performance increase compared to the previous model, offering a stronger torque curve that can be used under all conditions. This achievement was possible due to a new cylinder head with a performance-enhancingpiston, a new intake manifold and a different exhaust system. The head’s overhaul – developed through CFD analysis and many flow bench calibrations – includes an improved intake duct to enhance aircirculation inside the engine. The new manifold, following the flow line, has a longer internal horn toimprove the tuning of pressure waves, and thus increase their fill while intaking air. The piston includes new coatings to reduce friction and improve its performance. A newly designed counter balancer wasintroduced to contain vibrations and reduce rider fatigue.

Exhaust system: the head-pipe has been redesigned to create a greater flow and to provide increased power. This new 4Str exhaust system is completed by a silencer, redesigned with HGS to contain the DB output, in line with the new racing standards.

Map: maps were updated to fair better with the new motor configuration, with renewed start-up and limiter strategies.

Graphics: a modern race look, simple yet bold, the final touch to the Italian RX range.

Radiators: their bearing structure was strengthened to prevent any deformation that might affect their operation, even during heavy-duty use.

Frame: geometry remains unchanged, yet the frame now incorporates a cast-in brace to further strengthen the frame around the steering neck area. This increases the reliability and stiffness of the frame’s area most subject to stress. Aluminium rear sub-frame and dedicated filter box: aluminium gives the right level of stiffness to the structure. Light, yet has the rigidity to overcome the demands of motocross. Access to the filter remains on the left side of the bike, and is extremely easy and intuitive, as well as being tool free. The push button seat also removes without tools.

Kayaba suspensions: fork (48mm) and single shock (50mm) are specifically calibrated on the new range models, focusing on their rideability and stability when the pace rises. The resulting setting is enough to make any rider confident, from amateurs to professionals.

Nissin braking system: with floating callipers and 260mm Galfer discs at the front and 240mm at the rear, for powerful and modular braking.

Chain: non o-ring, lighter and smoother.

Lithium battery: lighter and a must for quick starts.

Handlebar silent block: Xtrig Flexfit bar mounts provide a comfortable grip on the handlebar for enhanced control and reduced vibration.

Engine maps: all the RX models are equipped with two specific engine maps (wet and dry), while the 4- Stroke model has also four levels of Traction Control (on/off/active with hard map/active with soft map) to manage the vehicle’s significant power in all terrain conditions. The button to select the map and TC is located on the handlebar bumpers. All RX will be supplied with personalized kickstand. In addition, the 4Str has four different throttle pulleys to customize the accelerator’s response.

John started work in the Motorcycle Trade in 1955, working for 2 large London Dealers for 10 years.
His ambition was to own his own dealership, so moved to Northamptonshire and purchased the shop where we are today in Higham Ferrers, that was 1964.
Since opening we have been an agent for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, plus all major Trials agencies. Today we are an agent for Yamaha (light weight) Kymco and quality used road machines of all makes. This includes off road Gas Gas Beta and Sherco Trial Machines, also Gas Gas Enduro New and Used Machines.

In his hay day John achieved many successes including being works rider for Francis Barnet (1958/9), James, BSA Dealership Sponsored, Bultaco plus others. Attaining The South Midland Trials Championship for 7 consecutive years and a total of 12 times, and to date this has never been beaten.

In 2008 we became John Lee and Sons, we welcomed 2 of our 4 sons Jack and Charley into the business.
Jack is our competition man in the workshop. Training at The Honda Institute becoming a Motorcycle Technician enabling him to work on road machines as well as off road machines. 2007 saw Jack leaving us temporarily to go on an experience of a life time, he was minder for World Championship trials rider James Dabill. In december 2010 he hung his boots up to return to us and has set up a dedicated competion workshop to pursue his desire of riding Enduro and Trials again. Jack has always been a good Trials Rider and on a very snowy Boxing Day in 2010 he won The 85 Wild and Woolly MX, the worlds oldest MX race.

Charley is shop manager when Johns not around, he deals with all spares, accessories and the day to day running of the shop. He is also an Expert Trials Rider finishing runner up in the South Midland Championship 2010. Got any problems? Then Chas is your man.
We are ably helped with David in our workshop for Road Machines, he is also Honda Institute trained and competed in the Honda Mechanic of the year competion on several occasions. He works on all makes of Japanese Bikes and has been with us for over 30 years.

Chas is in the shop, and is very knowledgeable about most things on 2 wheels and is always there to assist or advise. As well as David, last but not least is Lesley, Johns wife, who is mostly office bound but turns her hand to most things.
