Description
Wedgwood Annular 'April Green' Earthenware Sauce Boat c1939.
Rare to find colourway. Designed by John Goodwin, Tom Wedgwood and Keith Murray for Rouard, Paris, in 1932 and manufactured by Josiah Wedgwood and Sons Ltd, Etruria, 1939.
Murray’s work has become very collectable, it was heavily influenced by his architectural background; rather than heavily decorated pieces like Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper, each piece was stylised, so visually more distinctive by shape and form. One of these sauce boats is held in the National Museum Scotland.
Measures 23 x 15 x 11cm. Some discolouration to interior of boat and saucer - please see pics for best description.
