Description
Vintage EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver) set of six fish knives and forks in their original box. Box clasp closes firmly.
This type of cutlery became popular in the late 19th century.
Fish knives and forks were sometimes called fish eaters.
Fish knives have a dull blade, sometimes with a notch for separating bones.
The set is from the Art Deco period (1920s-1930s). Belonged to my grand mother.
EPNS indicates a silver plating over a base metal, usually brass or copper.
The handles appear to be made of faux bone or Bakelite. No chips in handles.
Minor surface use commensurate to being 100 years old.
Sets like these are often sought after by collectors.
Can deliver to Allestree/Darley Abbey if necessary.
