Description
Mid Century Period Piece
Large Vintage Scratch Built Model Sailing
Pond Yacht Boat on Stand
circa late 1950's mid 1960's.
Approx Size : 47" ( Length )
We are delighted to offer this loft find . . . A vintage scratch built model sailing boat on stand. English in origin & hand made completely from scratch using all sorts of parts the maker could find. Quite large in size measuring a impressive 47" in length & 58" tall. Heavy weighted base, brass tiller & hudder, wooden deck & pine wood mask with fittings. Dark blue gloss painted hull & sky blue top deck cabin. Inside the cabin is a hinged lift up compartment & some small parts needed to repair the rigging/tiller etc. This model comes directly from a recent estate sale & is sold in lovely loft found vintage condition. It in good general order but is in need of some light repairs. It mainly needs the rigging string re-attaching & some sails. The tiller arm is present but need soldering back on. All very do able & would make for a very cool display or sailing model when complete. Would be a great project for the model boat enthusiast & is a superb base to make your own or just use as a very cool room display piece. It comes with a sky blue painted stand which is great to use when stored or displayed. Overall a cool by-gone era model which I believe would date nicely to around circa late 1950's to mid 1960's.
