Description
VINTAGE BRASS CROCODILE REFLEX HAMMER MEDICAL INSTRUMENT - BAYER ADVERTISING 1960s
WILL POST - I can post this for £4.50 if paid for by bank transfer (Note - we only accept payment in cash on collection or by bank transfer if delivery agreed - no PayPal, card, or courier payment).
Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!
We got this from an antique dealer at Chatillon sur Seine, Burgundy and apparently it came from the clearance of a local physicians house.
It’s a charming medical reflex hammer used by medical practitioners for testing reflexes.
Extremely well cast in fine brass in the form of a crocodile, it’s marked BAYER to the base and brief research shows it to be a marketing or advertising product for BAYER, Germany, from the 1960s.
This is still functional as intended and also makes a great medical or mid century decorative collectible piece…
In very good condition with some light wear - please examine the photographs carefully for condition.
No damage.
The brass is finely cast and still bright.
The rubber hammer ring is in good, intact condition with a little wear - see photos.
The base is worn but sound - see photos.
Marked to the base: BAYER.
Measures approximately:
23 cm long,
4 cm wide,
4 cm tall,
weighs about 360 g.
