Description
You are looking at genuine (not reproduction), vintage, long handled bed warmer/warming pan was the lid of the pan showing an engraved bird and flower themed pattern. Was found during a turnout of the attic and now needs a new home. Would make a beautiful decorative piece.
Not entirely sure of the age as I can't see any makers mark. My parents used to display it hung up on the wall before it was stored away in the attic over 40 years ago. Based on similar ones for sale online, I believe this to be from the 1900's but I obviously can't be sure about this so please take this into account before buying.
Please note that to open the pan, you need to get a screw driver or something stiff and flat to pop the pan open.
I have given the copper pan and brass part of the handle a quick polish with Brasso though I have no done inside of the pan as it looks like the inside has a special coating of some description.
The copper pan has a few dings from its years of service (both as an actual bed warmer and as a decoration) but is in otherwise excellent condition, especially considering the likely age. Condition, as per the pictures.
