Description
Vintage Telkom Elektrim rotary dial telephone.
Polish rotary dial handset from RWT, 1974.
This is the executive version with chrome grille, for secretly recording conversations, as used by the Stasi and secret police in cold war Eastern Bloc. There is a red and black 'start' and 'stop' recording button to the front, as well as two external ports to the rear to attach to tape recorder.
RWT is Radomska Wytwornia Telekomunikacyjna, the state owned Polish telephone company and were noted in the 70s and 80s for their hi gloss space age design.
No cracks or chips to the casing .
Could be converted , used with a modem or just placed in a mid century or space age area as a piece of interior design.
Ideal film TV or Theatre prop
