Description
The Strand Magazine was an illustrated monthly edited by and published by George Newnes. One volume January to June 1891, the other July to December 1891, so a complete year and documenting events more than 130 years ago. Includes fascinating factual stories of ‘The Charge of the Light Brigade’; Sherlock Holmes fiction by A Conan Doyle, including: ‘The Boscombe Valley Mystery’; ‘The Five Orange Pips’ and ‘The Man With The Twisted Lip’. PLUS: ‘A Night with the Thames Police’; ‘Our Money Manufactory’; ‘How The Redoubt Was Taken’; ‘Child Workers in London’; ‘Stories of the Victoria Cross Told By Those Who Have Won It’ and ‘The Story of The Strand’, to name but a few.
