A fine and substantial English antique Georgian solid sterling silver and gilt-lined table snuff box, made by renowned silversmiths Taylor & Perry and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1832.
Superb quality genuine 193 year old example and a nice bigger size, with a hinged silver lid and attractive reeded engraving and has an ornate protruding edge lip to assist lid opening.
• Date: 1832 (Gothic date letter “J”)
• Maker: Taylor & Perry (active 1824–1849)
• Full English silver hallmarks, including George III duty mark
• Measurements: approx. 84mm x 48mm x 23mm (3.25" x 1.95" x 0.95")
• Weight: approx. 96 grams
• Condition: Lovely antique condition – no dents, splits, or wear-through. Possible minor historic repair to a corner but unobtrusive. The gilt-lined interior is largely intact. Closes well with a good hinge.
• Design: Attractive reeded engraving and original ornate lip for lid opening. No personal inscriptions added.
A beautiful example of a large-sized, high-quality silver snuff box nearly 200 years old. Ideal for collectors, Georgian silver enthusiasts, or as a display piece.
