Description
New arrival this evening . This is a Royal Navy Cordite Hod / Carrier. Used to carry the cordite to the ships guns. Totally original and authentic.
Nicely stamped Broad Arrow and in very good condition. Cordite a smokeless propellent was created to replace black powder. It was first introduced in 1889 so we know this carrier is post 1889. A great piece of Naval collectable militaria which today could be used for holding sticks / canes etc. The carrier is light to move as they are made primarily of leather clad Cork.
