very rare hand carved clock made by a prisoner at the german internment camp in edwintowe in nottinghamshire in 1947, just before the camp was closed in 1948, the prisoners used to make items and sell them to the local residents of edwintowe, this was bought by one of the guards at the camp and was in his family for many years , it was found in his shed when he passed away, unfortunately the original clockwork movement the prisoner installed in the clock was completely rusted away , so to make the clock a usable item once more l have installed a quartz movement , it works perfectly and comes with a new battery, it is 25 and 1/2 inches tall x 7 inches wide x 4 and 1/2 inches deep, all the case is hand carved it must have taken him weeks to make this, a real piece of social history from the war time . edwinstowe area, prefer buyer collect , but will deliver it or meet you in the nottingham area for a £5 fuel cost, or will post for £8.50 well packed after full payment via paypal,
