Description
A late Victorian bone china part tea service decorated with colourful floral swags beneath gilded scrolls. The cup is a a straight sided or bucket shape with a square handle. This shape originated in the early 19th century and was revived in the 1890s and probably formed the basis of Wileman’s (Shelley) Victoria shape.
The pieces are in good condition. There is some wear to the gilding on the rims from normal use. The glaze on some items is crazed. A pretty set that is very usable and displays well.
There are:-
8 Trios (cup, saucer, side plate)
2 Serving plates
1 Tall milk jug
Plus a few additional oddments (some with minor damage) - not illustrated.
Cash on collection from DE22.
