Description
Discovered lovingly packed in a relative’s attic, this elegant mid-century tea set carries the charm of a bygone European era. Manufactured by Heinrich & Co. Selb, Bavaria — a prestigious porcelain maker later part of Rosenthal — this 1930s–50s set features the graceful “Anmut” pattern (No. 14194) with delicate florals and fine gold edging.
The set has been cherished for decades, used only on special occasions and then forgotten — until now. A few imperfections (one cracked cup, some chips) only add to its vintage authenticity and story. Ideal for collectors, stylists, or anyone who appreciates true heritage craftsmanship.
Includes:
• Teapot with lid (cracked but decorative and fully usable)
• 5+ cups and saucers (some with chips)
• Egg holders
• Each piece numbered and stamped with the Heinrich crown
My great-aunt was an eccentric language teacher who spent her youth touring Europe on a shoestring and her evenings memorising German poetry. This tea set was gifted to her by a retired Bavarian hotelier after she helped translate some love letters he’d written in his youth. She carried it back across borders in a wool coat and refused to drink tea from anything else for the next 40 years. It sat in her glass cabinet until she passed it down to us with a smile and the words, ‘It’s older than your government and twice as elegant.
