For sale is a stunning original oil painting by the famous court painter Sir Godfrey Kneller 1646 - 1723
Sir Godfrey Kneller was leading portraitist in England during the late Stuart and early Georgian eras, he served as court painter to successive English and British monarchs, including Charles II of England and George I of Great Britain.
Here we have a stunning Portrait of a young girl in a landscape holding a parakeet,
It is an oil on canvas, measuring a total of 111cm x 136cm.
It sits in a later gilt wood frame .
The painting has been lined and professionally restored and re stretchered and professionally framed with cork spacers to protect it.
There is evidence of some restoration work.
Overall it in amazing condition, colours are bright and it’s ready to hang .
Provenance: previously from The Chieveley Manor house , and later the Whitehaven Hall collection.
