Original antique oil painting on canvas, signed C B Hebbert and dated 1886.
Unusual piece of Victorian folk art, depicting a lively funny scene of two young children / kids, perhaps playing during what it appears to be a break in a posing session.
A work in progress picture canvas can be seen on the background, as well as tools of the trade - brushes, colours, other work of art.
Beautiful details like an old chair, an old metal vase of exquisite shape, a blue rug.
The location looks like a Bohemian artist small roof studio.
The young girl wears a somewhat exotic outfit - are these perhaps gipsies?
A beautiful example of folk art style, in great condition, with deep colours
