Description

Set of 3 rare beautiful late 19th century jet black and gold gilt water jugs/pitchers/ewers Made by Gibson & Sons Burslem, Staffs, and each is stamped to the base with RD no 140614 and pattern name PALM as well as handwritten 446a which I think is the pattern number.

This is a truly beautiful Aesthetic movement set of jugs similar to one found in the Victoria & Albert museum.

Dating to c1889 and each has a stunning design with beautiful gilding and enamel paints showing cranes, palm trees and bamboo shoots. Perfect for the collector of Gibsons, Jackfield or the lover of the Aesthetic movement or 19th century English pottery.

sizes in cm are:

2, Height 16.5 base diameter 10, mouth diameter 8
3. Height 19.5 base diameter 11, mouth diameter 9 (NB some slight loss of enamel on 2 palm leaves)

I will sell as a set for £200 or £70 each
