Description
This is early 1800’s Map of Durham County.
The map includes cities and towns such as Durham, Newcastle on Tyne, Darlington, Sunderland, South Shields, Bishop Auckland, and Stockton.
This is a hand coloured map drawn and engraved by Joshua Archer. Joshua was an English cartographer, cooperplate printer and engraver at Barnstaple, Devon in 1792. He spent his professional life in London until his death in 1863.
The frame is glazed, ready to hang, and measures 13 3/4” tall, 16” wide, and ¾” deep (35cm x 40.5cm x 2cm). Mount opening measures 7 3/8” x 9 5/8” (18.5cm x 24.5cm).

CONDITION REPORT
The artwork presents well. The frame is sturdy and bears minimal wear. Minor water damage to the mount, not affecting the map itself. Provided photos accurately present the current condition. This is a genuine antique item, hence signs of history should be anticipated.
