Welcome to the sale of my GTV V6 24V (series 2). This superb example has only covered a genuine and documented 61,000 miles and comes with an extensive and chronologically ordered history file. I have owned it for 3 years and no expense has been spared in maintenance. I have receipts for over £8000 spent in getting this car in tip top condition.

Presented in immaculate Rosso Red (the only colour to have), each and every panel is totally rust free and there are no scratches or dents. Underneath is also in excellent condition having been cleaned and then protected and all cavities waxoyled, with all main parts having been replaced with new.

The engine is super smooth (fully serviced) and the car moves effortlessly through the rare 6 speed gearbox (new clutch) and is truly a pleasure to drive and MOT'd until the end of May 2026 and no advisories. If you are reading this you will already know just how revered the V6 Busso engine is in motoring circles and how it is renowned for its signature exhaust note, which has been further enhanced by the fitting of a stainless steel quad exhaust system. It is almost impossible to find suitable superlatives to describe the sound produced. The acceleration is blistering (0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds) and tops out at 150mph. Nevertheless, it will comfortably return 28mpg on a run. I insure it through Lancaster Classic car insurance for just £138 pa fully comprehensive.

Clearly the documented mileage is a rarity in itself, with the car covering an average of only 2350 per year through its lifetime and in the three years that I have owned it, it has only covered 500 miles a year. It has had 8 previous owners which is in keeping with that expected for any two door sports car, as owners tend to keep them for an average of three years and then move on.

This is my first 916 but it's my 9th Alfa, ranging through the 116 series as well as Suds and Sprints. The design combined with the exceptional engines have been impossible to resist throughout the years and all have been head turners but this one takes the biscuit. In the three years I have owned it I have only seen one other on the road and if you check the “How many left” website you will see why, as there are only 92 V6's currently on UK roads. There are 48 counties in England, so that's an average of two per county. A select group indeed! It is such an incredibly beautiful car that it gets admiring looks literally wherever it goes. Even pulling in to get fuel usually provokes a compliment, enquiry or admiring glance.

Handling is second to none, especially now that the car benefits from new “Koni Street” shocks all round, new bump stops and cups, new spring pans and bushes as well as new springs all round. Clarkson is quoted as saying that you would be hard pushed to find any car to keep up with it around a race track. High praise indeed and well deserved. It has virtually new Pirelli Synergy tyres all round (approx 250 miles ago) and the wheels were laser tracked at the same time. I have just upgraded the front discs (perforated) with new pads as well. All callipers have just been renovated and really set the car off.

The leather interior (Momo) is in exceptional condition and looks like new. All switches work as they should, as does the A/C and electric sunroof. The original and rare stereo will come the car, though I have replaced it with a more modern unit.

If you are looking for an exceptional, low mileage, rare and sort after example of this iconic car, look no further. Any inspection is welcomed. I currently own 4 other vehicles and covering only 500 miles a year I can no longer justify spending more time looking at it than driving it. Nevertheless, it will be a sad and reluctant sale as examples like this don't come around very often and they are appreciating in value. All three Red Keys are present, as is the owner's manual. It also has the space saver spare wheel, which is often missing (never used). Thanks for reading.
