General Farm worker with a working sheep dog

The farm is situated on the West Coast of Scotland. Mainly hill ground with some low ground in which we take silage off. 700 Ewes with 300+on Hill Ground the rest on low ground. Herd of 42 Suckler cows. Three bedroom detached house available. Previous experience in calving, lambing, etc. is essential and good animal husbandry. The position is permanent but you would be self employed as happy to do contracting at other places on days off etc There is flexibility but would go into that when applicant makes contact. We are looking for a stockperson required to work on a family farm, running a 42 head suckler herd. Must be able to use initiative and be prepared to work alone or with the employer when needed. The candidate ideally should be experienced in administration, stockmanship and machinery use. The job includes a 3 bedroom detached house. We appreciate that few candidates will have all the sought skills/experience so we would still welcome applications from candidates who have had good exposure to the majority of the skills below: Day to day operations on the farm include: Cattle care including calving, bedding, feeding, foot trimming, prepping calves for sale, castrating, dosing and all aspects of husbandry. General maintenance on the farm and buildings including Fencing, steading improvements and maintenance, clearing fallen trees, grass cutting. Sheep care-including hill lambing, feeding, foot trimming, etc.. Tractor work including rolling, topping, muck spreading, grass land management, moving bales, spraying. Work alongside contractors to get the best out of the farm.Must have own Sheepdog
