Part-time Finance Assistant

Do you want to join a workplace where your knack for organisation, love of spreadsheets, and eye for detail are genuinely appreciated. We are looking for someone with experience in finance administration who is available for a part-time, 9 – 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

An established business in York is offering an exciting opportunity for a friendly and hardworking part time Finance Assistant to become a key player within their supportive accounts team. If you’re someone who thrives on routine, enjoys ticking things off a to-do list, and finds satisfaction in a well-managed inbox or perfectly formatted Excel sheet—this could be the perfect fit.

The Part Time Finance Assistant will be:

* Processing purchase and sales invoices

* Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

* Handling supplier queries and reconciling statements

* Supporting credit control activities

* Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems

* Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks

Essential:

* Previous experience in an accounts/finance assistant role

* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications

Job type – Contract Fixed Term 9-12 months

Hours – Part time, Wednesday to Friday 9-5.30pm

Salary – £26K (pro rat’d if 9 Months)
