Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Redditch, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their Finance team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership of a high-volume ledger, build strong customer relationships, and play a key role in improving credit control processes.

The role:

As Credit Controller, you'll be the go-to person for all things credit control. From managing payment collections to resolving disputes, you'll ensure cash flow targets are met while maintaining strong customer relationships. Key duties include:

Managing a high-volume debtor ledger, driving down aged debt.

Building strong relationships with both customers and internal teams.

Monitoring payment trends and tackling risks early.

Resolving queries promptly and professionally.

Producing accurate weekly/monthly debtor reports.

Supporting process improvements across the credit control function.

Handling self-bill accounts and reconciliations.

About you:

We're looking for someone who's confident, proactive, and used to working in a fast-paced environment. You'll need to bring:

Proven Credit Control experience, ideally in manufacturing or a blue-chip environment.

A track record of reducing debtor days and improving processes.

Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).

ERP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Efacs, or similar).

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Resilience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high workload.

CICM or AAT qualifications would be a bonus but are not essential
