Accounts Assistant / Senior

Our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Waterlooville, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant / Senior to join their close-knit team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with a solid practice background who enjoys working directly with clients and tackling a broad range of accounting challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of company statutory accounts - ranging from straightforward to more complex cases

Drafting corporation tax returns

Occasional preparation of directors' personal tax returns (not essential)

Investigating and resolving incomplete accounts

Working with clients to clarify and correct poor bookkeeping

Supporting with ad-hoc accounting exercises as they arise

About You:

Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential

Comfortable handling a mix of accounts, including more complex and incomplete records

Confident communicating directly with clients

Able to work independently and as part of a small team

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
