Hello,

My name is Aarya, and I am pleased to be offering private tutoring lessons in Chemistry up to and including Advanced Higher and Biology up to and including Higher.

I’m currently a 3rd year medical student studying at The University of Edinburgh. I have A band 1’s in Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Chemistry. I can adapt my teaching style to best suit my students depending on their specific abilities as well as their preferred learning style.

My teaching is centred around the SQA course specifications, ensuring full alignment with the curriculum, while also incorporating my own notes and exercises that I have successfully used both in my own studies and with previous students. These additional resources help to reinforce understanding and provide valuable practice beyond standard materials.

To reinforce learning beyond our lessons, I provide flashcards tailored to the topics we are covering. These encourage active recall and help students familiarise themselves with exam expectations, while also highlighting areas that may need further review and ensuring that core concepts are fully understood.

In addition, I offer specialised guidance for Chemistry projects at both Higher and Advanced Higher levels. As these projects are more self-directed and often receive less in-school support, I help students navigate challenging aspects of the work, from planning and methodology to analysis and presentation, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel in this component of the course.
