Hello! I'm Grace.

I am an English teacher and tutor with many years’ experience and a great track record. Over the last fifteen years I've guided hundreds of students to success in their exams. If English is your weakest subject, I can help you make it your strongest.

In my five years as an English teacher in a London sixth form college I guided hundreds of students through their exams, tailoring my methods to meet the needs of a wide range of different learning styles. During one to one tutoring, I take great pleasure in having the space to really get to know, and meet, the particular learning needs of each student.

As an AS and A Level teacher (equivalent to Higher and Advanced Higher), I've helped A grade students achieve 100% in their English exams, and as a GCSE teacher (equivalent to National 5), I've helped D grade students successfully achieve Bs and As. In my GCSE English re-sit classes (in which every student had previously achieved a grade D), my pass rate at C or above was always at least 85%. I have been tutoring in Scotland since 2019, so I am very familiar with the Scottish syllabus.

I have a first class degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Cardiff University, and a PGCE from the prestigious Institute of Education.

Outside of my teaching work, I am also a professional scriptwriter with many credits across film, TV, audio drama, and theatre. I love all aspects of my work. I love to find the perfect way to communicate an idea, and I love to help people find their personal path into a love of, and ownership of, literary art. I feel very privileged to get to do those things as both a teacher and a writer.

I am a member of Disclosure Scotland’s PVG Scheme for working with children.

I charge £30 an hour, and teach out of my home in Finnieston, or over Microsoft Teams. I run hourly sessions from 3.30 – 8.30pm on Tuesdays, and 6 - 8pm on Thursdays. I find best results are achieved from meeting on alternate weeks earlier in the year, increasing to weekly lessons after the prelims.
