BMW's hardtop convertible models include the older Z4, 4 Series, M4, 330i series, and so on. BMW does not have many hardtop convertibles. The new Z4 and new 4 Series are both soft-top convertibles. Soft-top convertibles are lighter. The Z4 is a sports car under BMW, and the new model has been well-received by many consumers since its launch.

  1. BMW 330i Convertible Coupe

The BMW 330i is the top configuration of the imported 3 Series, featuring a classic 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine with very strong power. BMW's focus on handling is perfectly demonstrated in this car. It has rich configurations; powerful performance; an elegant interior with a sense of luxury and technology. As a coupe, it combines the luxury and comfort of a sedan with the power, acceleration, and handling performance of a sports car.

  1. BMW Z4

The interior of the Z4 is relatively simple, pursuing a pure driving pleasure. The T-shaped three-spoke steering wheel and the manual shift paddles on the inside can fully arouse your desire to drive. The multiple function buttons on it are convenient to operate and easy to master.

  1. BMW 435i

The design of the BMW 435i hardtop convertible emphasizes structural rationality and a natural, smooth feeling. Although it is difficult to identify the specific model from the front of the car, the dual exhaust pipes at the rear reveal some of its capabilities. When the roof is open, it gives the feeling of wanting to embark on a spontaneous journey, enjoying the sunshine and the air. Body dimensions: 4641*1825*1406 mm. Compared to the Coupe version, the convertible version is 19mm taller in height and slightly heavier in weight. The waistline running from the fender to the rear of the car is full of design sense, exuding elegance and nobility.

  1. BMW M4

The BMW M4 is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, with a maximum power of 317kw and a maximum torque of 550Nm. The maximum power speed ranges from 5,500 to 7,300 rpm, and the maximum torque speed ranges from 1,850 to 5,500 rpm. This engine features BMW's double VANOS and Valvetronic technologies and uses an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block.

Several BMW models have been available with hardtop convertibles, offering a blend of open-top driving and refined coupe-like comfort when the roof is up. The most notable models include the BMW 4 Series Convertible (F33 and G23 generations), BMW 3 Series Convertible (E93), and the BMW Z4 (E89).

The BMW 4 Series Convertible (G23) is the latest iteration, featuring a retractable hardtop that folds away in 18 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph. It provides excellent insulation and a quieter cabin compared to soft-top alternatives. The previous F33 model also used a hardtop mechanism.

The E93 3 Series Convertible was one of BMW’s first hardtop convertibles, with a three-piece folding roof that stowed neatly into the boot. While practical, it did reduce boot space when down.

The E89 Z4 was a two-seater roadster with a retractable hardtop, combining sporty dynamics with the convenience of a coupe when needed.

For those seeking a hardtop convertible, the 4 Series is the current choice, while the Z4 and older 3 Series models offer used alternatives.

From a buyer’s perspective, BMW’s hardtop convertibles are appealing for their year-round usability. The 4 Series Convertible (G23) is the newest option, replacing the F33. The E93 3 Series and E89 Z4 are older but still desirable on the used market. Hardtops provide better security and noise insulation than soft tops, though they do reduce boot space when folded.
