The Honda CRV child seat anchor points are located on the rear seats, featuring a flip-up switch mechanism, with ISOFIX compatibility for child seats.

The car seat connectors consist of two rigid attachment points for securing child seats, with the CR-V's anchor points situated within the indicated crevices. When purchasing a child car seat, ensure compatibility with the Honda CRV model. Failure to verify the seat's suitability during installation will render it unusable.

The Honda CR-V has ISOFIX car seat connection points located in the rear seats, specifically on the outer seats (left and right). These metal anchor points are positioned between the seat base and the backrest, marked by small labels or plastic tabs for easy identification. The top tether anchor points are found behind the rear seats, either on the back of the seat or the boot floor, depending on the model year.

For precise installation:

  1. Locate the ISOFIX points by feeling for the metal bars or checking for marked indicators.
  2. Attach the car seat’s ISOFIX connectors to these anchors until they click securely.
  3. For forward-facing seats, use the top tether strap, hooking it to the designated anchor behind the seat.

Pre-2012 models may have slightly different tether anchor positions, so consult the vehicle manual if unsure. The CR-V’s ISOFIX system is compatible with most modern car seats, including brands like Britax and Maxi-Cosi. Always ensure a firm fit with minimal movement before driving.

From a parent’s perspective: The Honda CR-V’s ISOFIX points are straightforward to use. They’re on the outer rear seats, hidden between the cushions. The top tether anchors are behind the headrests or in the boot. I’ve fitted a Joie Stages seat in mine—just align the connectors, push until they click, and tighten the tether. The CR-V’s wide rear doors make it easier to manoeuvre bulky seats compared to narrower SUVs like the Nissan Qashqai.
