There are many possible reasons why a car key won't start the engine:

  1. The battery might be dead.

Solution: Regularly check the battery level and recharge it in time.

  1. There might be an issue with the wiring.

Solution: Have a professional mechanic inspect and repair the wiring.

  1. The steering wheel lock might be jamming the key.

Solution: Have a professional mechanic inspect and repair the steering wheel lock.

  1. There might not be enough gasoline.

Solution: Refuel the car promptly.

  1. There might be a problem with a component in one of the three systems: fuel system, ignition system, or exhaust system.

Solution: Take the car to a professional repair shop to diagnose and fix issues in the fuel, ignition, or exhaust systems.

  1. Steering wheel lock: This is a simple anti-theft feature. When the car is turned off, turning the steering wheel from its centered position to one side (usually left) by a certain angle will cause it to click and lock.

Solution: Turn the steering wheel slightly further in the same direction while turning the key. This will unlock the steering wheel, allowing you to turn the key and restart the car.

This situation occurs because the steering wheel is locked. Turning the steering wheel while the car is off triggers the vehicle's security system, which assumes a theft risk and automatically activates the steering wheel lock.
