56HEV mode refers to a vehicle's hybrid power mode, and also represents hybrid electric vehicles. Hybrid vehicles combine a traditional internal combustion engine with an electric motor for propulsion.
The HEV mode utilises either a diesel or petrol engine alongside an electric motor, with both providing power to the vehicle. Currently, the most developed hybrid systems combine petrol engines with electric motors.
HEVs have very small battery capacity which cannot be charged via external power sources, thus preventing extended pure electric driving. Their electric motors have limited power output, only providing supplementary assistance during acceleration or initial movement, thereby achieving some fuel efficiency.
As the primary power source remains the combustion engine, these vehicles are not classified as new energy vehicles but rather as fuel-efficient conventional automobiles.
