Reasons for squealing noise when accelerating: It may be caused by the belt slipping on the alternator, resulting in intense friction and vibration between the belt and pulley, producing a noise at a certain frequency.

The main causes of belt slippage are either a loose or worn belt. Factors that can lead to a loose belt include improper adjustment of the belt tensioner or insufficient tensioner spring force. In this case, the tension of the belt tensioner should be adjusted first. If this doesn't resolve the issue, the tensioner should be replaced.

Belt wear primarily refers to the belt gradually hardening and losing elasticity over prolonged use, reducing friction between the belt and pulley. In this situation, the only solution is to replace the belt.
