A 225 tyre is classified as a wide tyre, with a width of 225mm. The advantages and disadvantages of wide tyres are as follows:

Advantages of wide tyres:

The wider tread provides enhanced grip and better resistance to lateral forces, positively impacting driving stability. They also offer improved handling, higher cornering limits, and slightly shorter braking distances.

Disadvantages of wide tyres:

The increased contact area with the road surface results in greater friction and resistance, leading to relatively slower acceleration and higher fuel consumption. The steering may feel heavier, and unless they are noise-reinforced tyres, road noise can be more pronounced.
