69- Pull backwards. There is a control stalk on the right side of the Volkswagen Tharu's steering wheel. Pulling this stalk backwards activates the front wipers and washer jets.
- Push forward. Pushing the control stalk fully towards the front of the vehicle activates the rear wiper washer.
- Lift upwards. Lifting the stalk upwards increases the wiper frequency - the higher you lift, the faster the wipers operate. The 'LOW' setting is for slow speed, while 'HIGH' is for rapid wiping.
- Switch to OFF. Move the stalk to the 'OFF' position to deactivate the wipers.
- Set to 1x. Positioning the stalk to '1x' makes it automatically spring back, causing the wipers to operate once.
The rain-sensing wipers can detect rainfall intensity and automatically adjust wiping speed to clear water droplets from the windscreen.
Owners should regularly inspect and clean wiper blades, maintaining their cleanliness. If minor wear is detected, the blades can be lightly sanded with fine-grit sandpaper.
When the windscreen is particularly dirty, drivers should ideally wipe away debris with a cloth first to minimise unnecessary wiper wear.
Ensure timely top-up of screenwash fluid. Operating without screenwash may damage the wiper system and cause operational noise.
In heavy traffic conditions, drivers should avoid excessive wiper operation to prevent distraction that could lead to collisions.
