70To reset the tire pressure light on a Mazda CX-5, follow these steps. The process varies slightly depending on the model year, but the general method remains consistent for most versions.
- Ensure all tires are inflated to the correct pressure, as specified in the owner’s manual or on the driver’s door sill sticker. Under or over-inflated tires can trigger the warning.
- Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (engine off) and wait for the dashboard lights to illuminate.
- Locate the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) reset button, usually found near the steering column or in the glovebox.
- Press and hold the button until the TPMS light blinks twice (about 3-5 seconds). Release the button.
- Start the engine and drive for at least 10 minutes at speeds above 20 mph to allow the system to recalibrate.
For newer CX-5 models (2017 onwards), the reset may be done via the infotainment system: navigate to "Vehicle Status Monitor" and select "TPMS Reset." If the light persists, check for punctures or sensor faults.
