A cracked tail light lens can often be repaired using plastic welding, but the repair must not affect light output for road legality. If brightness is compromised, replacement is necessary. The lens can be replaced separately from the full light unit. 1. Source an exact replacement lens for your vehicle model. 2. Remove the tail light assembly, typically requiring heating to soften adhesive. 3. Clean residual sealant thoroughly before fitting the new lens with fresh automotive-grade sealant. Modern LED tail lights combine brake, indicator, reverse and position lights in one unit, with rear fog lights usually mounted separately below. LED units offer brighter illumination and longer lifespan than traditional bulbs. Always check alignment and light function after repair or replacement to ensure compliance with road safety standards.
